The Female Charitable Society is an historic organization that focuses on the charitable needs of the community, both locally and globally.  This amazing club celebrated its 200th year of existence in 2016.  The “Females” are an active and vital contribution to our greater church mission.  Watch for their semi-annual rummage sales in spring and fall, at the Church on the Hill.

Potluck Suppers are a highlight of summer Friday nights!  Beginning the first Friday following the 4th of July, they continue through the last Friday before school starts.  Various community groups take turns hosting, and each supper features local entertainment.  Suppers begin at 6:30 at the Church on the Hill.  Bring a dish to share and enjoy good company!

Out To Lunch meets October through June at noon on the third Wednesday of the month.  In January we have a New Year’s Day Potluck, and in June we meet on the first Wednesday for a “picnic” prepared by the OTL committee.  After many of the lunches, the Acworth School children come to entertain us.  They are such a delight.

Often Bill Brodne, a Home Health Care nurse, comes early to administer various health needs such as flu shots and blood pressure clinics.  He is always willing to answer our health care questions or to guide us in the correct direction for help.

Thank you to all who come and enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship.  Please join us for lunch and laughter and let us know if you would like to help with the cooking.

Neighbors Near and Far is an opportunity for the community to learn about a person’s overseas experiences.  Areas we’ve heard about include China, the Philippines, Paraguay, Guinea (West Africa), a Pacific Cruise, Peru, and Iceland.
